RV Europa 2014

Leben im RV und reist durch Europa

Trier
Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Visiting Steffi in Trier was great, she showed us around as a professional tourguide. Developing a tooth for free berries and fruit you can find on the way!

Besancon
Franche-Comte, France

Running away from the bad weather. Forecast: one week rain... Thank you, no. We are heading for Marseille.

Reventin-Vaugris
Rhone-Alpes, France

Stopping for the night on a free parking. With other campers around. France is very friendly for camping cars. A lot of people come to our RV and tell us where it is a better place to stand with free water and a toilet. Amazing.

We had Rice-Risotto with veggies, yum.

Marseille
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

We had to stay on a secure compound with fence and PIN because Marseille is quite dangerous for RVs. And we got lost in the Calangues and had to climb up a steep mountain for an hour in the sun with hardly any food!

Ollieres
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Stayed at vineyard / lavender farm called Les Terres de St Hilaire.

Greoux-Les-Bains
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Stayed on a remote olive tree and sheep farm up a two kilometer dirt track - Robin not happy about that! But our hostess was very friendly and an even friendlier old black sheep dog cheered Robin up.

St.-Paul-Les-Durance
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Free RV parking on a mobile home site with a surprise: a beautiful waterfall and natural pool surrounded by trees. Very cool on a hot day.

Vinon-sur-Verdon
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Stopped on a proper campsite again with great bathing spots for Katja. Robin thinks the water is too cold because he is just a big wimp...

Castellane
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Robin wants to stay forever... and he makes good money busking. Also he is sketching again! Yesterday we have been already at the Cote d'Azur and missed the mountains immediately, so we went back :-) Looks like we will stay a while.

Aiguines
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Checking out the southside of the canyon. Very nice too, maybe even better. Robin got us a place on a great campsite overlooking the lake for one evening entertainment! Great deal. Next night we spent wildcamping on a bridge with bungee jumpers. Now back in Castellane, doing some work and working out our future trip with great hope to avoid the summer  holiday madness.

Barcelonnette
Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Finally we are back on the road, saying good-bye to lovely Castellane. We had a last day on a beautiful lake, almost all the time alone, which was great to test our new solar shower (AKA a black plastic bag with outlet...). Works great! Free clean lake-water heated by the sun.

Robins driving experience comes in handy with all the narrow mountain roads indeed.
